motioned.

“Slowly.”

He removed a small metal token.

An old seal was stamped into its face.

Three intersecting lines inside a circle.

The same symbol tattooed on the captured attacker.

Anna went pale.

“Where did you get that?”

Voss looked at her.

“My mother.”

Anna stared.

Victoria asked, “Who was she?”

Voss answered quietly.

“Edwin Sloane’s sister.”

Graham began laughing.

Not because anything was funny.

Because the final family secret had surfaced.

Victoria looked between them.

Anna Mercer’s daughter.

Edwin Sloane’s son.

Edwin’s nephew.

The Custodian had never merely been a technical system.

Its creators had embedded inheritance directly into its control.

A private dynasty hidden inside public authority.

Victoria stood.

“Then we end that part first.”

She looked at Anna.

“Can you remove all lineage privileges?”

Anna nodded slowly.

“With root access.”

Victoria held the audit device.

“And can we preserve protected identities while transferring legitimate cases?”

“Yes.”

Voss said, “You’ll need my key.”

Victoria looked at him.

“You’ll surrender it.”

“Yes.”

“And afterward?”

Voss understood.

“I answer for what I did.”

No bargaining.

That mattered.

Not enough to excuse him.

Enough to continue.

Victoria turned to court security.

“Take Sloane and his people into separate custody. No local facilities.”

Then she looked at Sarah.

“Get Evan medical care.”

Sarah nodded, tears running openly now.

Daniel approached.

“What about me?”

Victoria studied him.

“You’re a witness.”

“I committed crimes.”

“Yes.”

He accepted it.

“What happens?”

“You tell the truth. All of it. Then prosecutors decide.”

He nodded.

Finally Victoria faced Anna.

The woman who might be her biological mother.

The architect of the system.

The person who had spent years deciding what other people could safely know.

“We have twenty-two hours,” Victoria said.

Anna looked at her.

“To save the protected archive?”

“To dismantle your inheritance.”

Click here to continue reading: PART 16: With the Custodian Counting Down, Victoria Chose What Truth Could Be Exposed Without Sacrificing the People Everyone Claimed to Protect

No one lowered a weapon.
