Bellweather Trust had been created thirty-one months earlier.

That date mattered.

Thirty-one months ago, Daniel and I were not discussing divorce.

Meridian did not exist.

Andrew had not begun advising Daniel to seek control.

Rachel had not started copying signatures.

At least not that we knew.

Victor had created something bearing his son’s name before the visible conspiracy had taken shape.

The trust documents arrived from a registry service the following morning.

Nina and I reviewed them in my temporary office while Prescott Logistics continued operating around us.

The beneficiary was Daniel Prescott.

The trustee was a company called North Lake Fiduciary
